Faith and Montessori, on the same page

Animals drawn true to nature

Young children learn best from what is real, so the whale, the eagle and the lion are drawn the way God made them. Your child will know them at the zoo. Only Joy is a character.

One page, one side, one idea

Every picture is printed on a single side so markers never bleed onto the next page, and each page holds a single idea a small child can finish. Big shapes, thick lines, room to breathe.

A verse that turns coloring into thanks

Each page carries a short verse from the World English Bible, and the parent guide shows how to turn a finished page into one sentence of gratitude. Wonder first, never fear.

Joy, the little lamb who guides every Mustardlings page, smiling with her arms open

Free coloring page: the mustard seed

"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed." (Matthew 13:31) A tiny seed, a sprout, a young plant and a tree where the birds rest, with Joy pointing the way. Print-ready, US Letter.

Good questions

What age is it for?

Ages 3 to 6. The thick lines and large shapes suit small hands and crayons; older siblings enjoy the details in the animals and plants.

How big is it, and how many pages?

8.5 x 11 inches, paperback, with 24 coloring pages, a "draw yourself" page, a "draw your family" page and a guide for parents and teachers.

Why is each picture on one side only?

So markers and paint pens cannot bleed through to another picture, and so a finished page can be pulled out and put on the fridge without losing a second one.

Which Bible translation do you use?

The World English Bible, a modern English translation in the public domain. Every verse is referenced so you can read it in your own Bible together.

Do we need to follow Montessori?

Not at all. Montessori simply guides how the book is drawn: real animals, calm pages, one idea at a time. It works the same at a kitchen table, in a classroom or in Sunday school.
